The purpose of the Friends is to :

» help Webster Groves maintain an independent community library;
» promote public interest in the use of the library, its resources, and its services;
» provide financial support for the daily operation of the library through membership dues and the annual book fair; and,
» encourage volunteer participation in this vital community resource.

Founded in 1974, the Friends of the Webster Groves Public Library have contributed more than $203,000 to the library, including funds for landscaping, an underground sprinkler system, carpeting, furniture for the reading area, computers, the children's Summer Reading Program, and large print books. The group's largest project is its book fair, held every spring.

Join the Friends

The Friends need your membership dues and your help as well. Volunteers are needed for the annual book fair in the Spring. The more volunteers we have, the more we can do for our library. Please consider becoming a Friend and volunteering a few hours of your time. October is the month the Friends of the Webster Groves Public Library hold their annual membership drive.

Membership levels :

» "Friend" - $25 (Senior citizens - $15)
» "Author" - $50
» "Editor" - $100
» "Publisher" - $250

All members receive :

» Special Friends-only wallet and key chain library card set
» Free entry to the opening night of the annual Spring Book Fair

Additional benefits to members at higher membership levels (on a cumulative basis) :

Book Fair

The 2008 Webster Groves Book Fair will be held at a new location, 1263 S. Laclede Station Rd., the former site of Hollywood Video in Yorkshire Plaza. Dates and times are as follows :

Thursday, May 1, 2008, 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.*
Friday, May 2, 2008, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday, May 3, 2008, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday, May 4, 2008, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
