Crafting with yarn, felt, fabric etc.  This program is for ages 10-18.

Learn basic crochet by making a yarn bookmark. Participants will receive a kit consisting of a crochet hook, a tapestry needle, yarn, the bookmark pattern and basic crochet instructions. Class limited to 15 participants. For ages 15 and up.

This spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure. Children see an incredible exothermic reaction take place and even get the chance to watch a hovercraft in action!

Celebrate summer reading with a FOAM PARTY! Join us for an all-ages summer-reading extravaganza. Foam Gone Bananas will provide a mountain of foam to play in, so wear clothes that can get wet/dirty and bring a towel, change of clothes, sunscreen and goggles!

Grades K–5
Learn the exciting and valuable jobs insects have while interacting with living animals. This program uses both mounted and living insects to give your students insights into the roles insects play in our world. This program features our largest variety of living animals, and each animal reveals the stories of how insects find food, escape danger, benefit other living things, and more!

Learn how to quill, an art form using rolled strips of paper to create decorative designs. Participants will receive a quilling tool, paper strips, a blank greeting card and a small wooden box to decorative. Limited to 15 participants. For ages 15 and up.

This program introduces young learners of all ages to the world of birds. What is a bird? Why are birds so special? Young learners will get to meet birds as well as interact with touchable items like feathers and eggs.

Suggested Ages: 8 and up

This program is for ages 8 to 17. At the Do Art Productions Comic Book Workshop, we will explore the different languages of comics, from the eyes, to body posture, to the actual language within speech bubbles.  The workshop is interactive and very creative with little tricks and turns to keep engagement.  With a dynamic pose drawing exercise you may see juggling axolotls, flying giraffes, or dabbing pandas.  After seeing how easy cartooning and creative expression can be, we will generate a comic together out of the characters and creativity of the first half!

The Tuesday Evening Book Club will discuss The Professor’s House by Willa Cather. This discussion has been rescheduled from Monday, August 26.
 
The discussion will be led by Sam Harned, a retired history teacher and avid reader.
