The following subscription-based databases are available to access from home with your Webster Groves Public Library card number.

 

Our library provides free access to ConsumerReports.org, a buying advice tool that will ensure you get the best deal or product. You can use it to find the most up-to-date, reliable ratings and reviews for thousands of products and help you make the most of your time and money. You can also access money-saving advice and tips, buying guides, videos and more.

 

Post-Dispatch logo

Access to the current and back issues of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is provided through NewsBank. The archive includes full-text articles from the 1980s to present, and full-page images from January 23, 2020 to present.

 

Stay current with national news, events, and people with The USA Today Collection from NewsBank. Search current and archived issues with full-color pages, full-text articles and content only published online. The archive goes back to 1987.

  • Indigenous Life in America offers an expansive window into Indigenous history, allowing users to examine coverage from all time periods, regions, and locations relevant to Native life. With over 17,500 content sources, the collection is the largest and most comprehensive digital news archive ever assembled covering Indigenous life.
  • Immigrant Life in America explores the experience of millions as they chose to make America their new homeland. With content from more than 17,500 national and global publications, it covers immigrant-related news from the early 18th century to the present day.

HeritageQuest Online has genealogical search site including U.S. census, family histories, and local histories among other resources.

LearningExpress logo

LearningExpress Library enables you to take practice tests for many standard college and professional exams. It also includes tutorials for basic computer use and various software packages, including Amazon Web Services.

In-Library Access

These resources can be accessed within the Library, either on Library computers or on your own device connected to the Library’s wifi.

Ancestry logo

Ancestry Library Edition provides access to over 30,000 collections containing 11 billion individual records.  Some features of Ancestry.com, such as user-created family trees, are not available.

Our Newspapers.com account provides searchable scans of old Webster Groves newspapers including the Webster Times, Webster Groves Times, Webster News-Times, and Webster Advertiser.
